At Plaid Labs, the mission is simple: make stuff that sparks that Christmas morning feeling. You know — the “whoa, this is even better than I hoped” moment. The kind of joy you had as a kid when you ripped open the wrapping paper and found every Ninja Turtle in existence waiting for an epic battle on the living room floor.

I’m Andy, the “Plaid Scientist,” running experiments in fun from my little home lab (read: the closet in my office). Everything here is 3D printed in small batches using designs I’ve created or licensed from incredible artists. My influences? Looney Tunes chaos, classic Disney shorts, the slapstick genius of The Muppet Show — basically anything that makes life sillier and more joyful.

When I first got into 3D printing, I was psyched to make Ninja Turtle collectibles — a way to relive those toy hunts I shared with my brother, and now with my kids. That love of pop culture, gaming, and quirky remixes is baked into every print.
